Home Match today versus Longwood. A lost scrum allowed Longwood to draw the first mark on the board with a very questionable try/knock-on. ODU answered with a very impressive 10 meter maul off a line out pulling in Longwood's defense allowing team Captain Jake Patterson to score a try as well as the conversion. The next try would be set up by Austin Sample running deep into LW territory offloading to John Lefevre for a try and Jake Patterson with the conversion. Defense lack on the goal line allowing LW to drive in a try. Jack Wall gained some precious yards after a quick tap and an offload to Travis Jones for a try and JP converts another. Another lack in defense on the tryline LW punches in their last points. Rookie Trent Agee pulls in 5 more for ODU off a ruck near the goal line and JP's conversion is good. A crafty grubber from our Irish Andrew Conway and hard chase by Austin Sample allows for ODU to continue adding points. Austin Greenhill gets set up by John Lefevre for 60+ meter dash to the tryline and JP sends yet another through the uprights. Travis Jones drives one in after successive pick and goes by the forwards. Rookies stepped up their game today and we moved some of the vets to new positions.
